1. All undergraduates regardless of their major are eligible to participate in GAP

2. Register by entering your student information in our database from this link REGISTER HERE

3. Review the program components and decide which 2 out of the 3 you want to work on completing
[top]
4. A list of GAP approved courses are listed on our website. A student must have 3 courses from 3 different departments. If they are in a professional school, two of the courses may be from the same department

5. To fulfil component B (Academic Component), you need to have 2 semesters of a foreign language PLUS three other courses. Language instruction courses are counted separately as B (i) and other courses are B(ii) -fulfilment of BOTH is required to complete the academic component

6. Contact the GAP Coordinator and the course content will be reviewed for eligibility

7. Suggested GAP approved activities. Other activities not listed may count if their theme is international. When in doubt whether an activity will count, contact the GAP Coordinator through email: gap@ku.edu , call 864-7265, stop by during walk in hours or make an appointment at a time that is convenient for you

8. Download and print a GAP Portfolio and record activities in section C under the appropriate subheadings

9. Some attendances require a signature and others do not. Read instructions at the bottom subtitles in section C of the portfolio

10. Yes. For each attendance write a summary. For each, describe the event and outline why the event was of international value to you- what did you learn that is new and international in nature

11. Summaries are a page long if you have no signature and half a page long if you have a signature. Summaries must be typed and in hard copy

12. Turn in all your summaries after you have accumulated 60 credits. Attach the record of attendance plus other pages of your portfolio. Click here to see how credits are awarded

13. Turn in your portfolio to the Office of International Programs located in room 300 Strong Hall to GAP Coordinator - remember to sign,date and put your KU ID number and name on the front page. Attach a current copy of your ARTS form
