Welcome to Global Partners
Global Partners offers a unique opportunity for students, staff, and scholars, both domestic and international, to share in a cultural exchange with a partner that has similar interests. Each international student or scholar will be matched with a domestic participant according to language, geographical interest, major, hobbies, and gender. They will meet at their leisure throughout the semester and engage in activities that interest them. In addition to the individual dynamic of the program, GP sponsors a number of large group activities that allow students to interact with others who share the same passion for internationalism. These events include community service, academic development, and entertainment.
Celeste Yaluk, the Global Partners coordinator, has been the program assistant in International Programs since June 2006. Traveling is one of Celeste's favorite activities. She has visited Brazil, Germany, Nicaragua, Paraguay, and Spain.
Brittany Love, the Global Partners student assistant, has worked in International Programs for 2 years. Brittany is majoring in chemistry and is the president of the Chem Club as well as a teaching assistant for Chem 125/184. She hopes to attend medical school next fall.
Celeste and Brittany are excited about the direction that Global Partners is heading, and they enjoy talking with current and prospective global partners. Global Partners is located in 300 Strong Hall. You can visit us in the International Programs office, call 864-6161, or email globalpartners@ku.edu.
